How often have you held back what you really wanted to say? Swallowed your words to keep the peace, or said "I'm fine" when you weren't? Most of us were raised in what my kumu, my teacher, Aunty Mahealani Kuamo'o Henry, a Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian), called a fault-finding society. We learned the language of limitation: can't, don't, shouldn't, try. It still speaks through us, often without our noticing. That old voice telling you to stay quiet isn't your true voice. Beneath it is the loving voice of who you really are. I came into this world with a voice to share. I sang professionally in New York, as one of the regular singers at Catch a Rising Star in the late '70s and early '80s. There I also became a voice specialist in singing, speaking, and sound healing, assisting Jeannette LoVetri at The Voice Workshop, a pioneer in teaching the voice as something felt and lived in the body. Later, Aunty's teachings showed me the voice as a living language. Both taught me the same truth: in every sound you make, there is power. The more lovingly conscious you become of your voice, the more you can use it to create your reality. In this workshop, I bring both together. In this workshop, I bring both together.
